Verify client and recipient 1099 information
To ensure complete and accurate 1099 information for your clients and recipients before processing the forms, follow these steps.
- SelectSetupthenClients.
- In theMaintab, make sure you've entered each client’s Employer Identification Number (EIN).
- In thePayroll Taxestab, confirm that you've entered all state withholding IDs.
- In the1099 Formstab, review the filing method and settings for each 1099 form type. If needed, enter a custom threshold amount to override the default printing threshold for each 1099 form type for your client.
- Within the same tab, mark the checkbox to send Independent Contractor 1099s at print time to Employee Self Service or WorkforceHub.
- Set up your 1096 signature information here. You can also choose to suppress or remove the date from the 1096 form’s signature area.
- Go to , expand thePayrollfolder, and run theEmployee Earningsreport. ForRegions to Include, selectMissing/Invalid W-2 Information. In theEmployeetab of theFiltering and Sortingsection, selectType > is > Independent Contractor. Review and correct any incomplete or inaccurate information.
- Run theVendor List – Condensedreport. In theVendortab of theFiltering and Sortingsection, selectType > is > 1099 Recipient. Check the information and make corrections as necessary.
- Generate the1099 Activityreport to review all related transactions.
- SelectActions, thenVerify SSN/TINto confirm employee Social Security numbers and vendor taxpayer identification numbers.
- In thePrint Optionswindow of the screen, verify your 1099 printing preferences.
- Place your order for 1099 forms.
