General

On July 12, 2022, Microsoft ended support for SQL Server 2012 and earlier. Therefore, as of this release, your firm must have SQL Server 2014 or higher installed on the servers that run
Accounting CS
.
note
  • This change doesn't affect firms using
    Accounting CS
on Virtual Office or Software as a Service (SaaS).
  • We're providing several reminders and alerts if you haven't yet upgraded to SQL Server 2014 or higher in the following ways:
    • An alert displays when you open the application.
    • A message displays in red text in the bottom right corner of the application.
    • An alert displays when you open CS Connect.

Payroll Compliance

  • Colorado.
    • We've added the
      FAMLI ID
field to the Colorado Additional Information window (select
      Setup
      ,
      Clients
      , and then the
      Payroll Taxes
      tab).
    • We've added the ability to file Form CO-PFML Worksheet electronically via FSET.
  • District of Columbia.
The DC Treasurer now requires all employers to file Form FR-900Q electronically and won't accept paper copies of the form any more. We've removed the
    Paper
    filing method and added the
    Web fill-in
    method. The
    Internet
    filing method is still available.
  • Oregon.
Starting with the first quarter 2023 tax filing period, the Oregon Paid Leave and Statewide Transit Tax are now reported on Form OQ. The Department of Revenue no longer accepts Forms STT-1 and STT-A electronically via FSET. Therefore, we've removed the
    Electronic
filing method for the forms. If you need to file a prior year form, you still file Forms STT-1 and STT-A using the
    Paper
    filing method.
  • Vermont.
We've updated the Healthcare Contribution rate used for Form WHT-436. Employers are exempt from paying the Healthcare Contribution if they have 4 or fewer full-time equivalent (FTE) employees. Effective as of 1st quarter 2023 reporting, employers must pay an increased Healthcare Contribution amount for each uncovered FTE employee above the 4 FTE exemption threshold.
  • Wisconsin.
We've added the ability to create multiple Form 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC electronic files for the same client in the Process Electronic Forms screen.
