Version 2024.1.0 release notes

We released version 2024.1.0 on March 25, 2024 with the following changes.

General

We replaced the
Browse For Folder
 window with the
Select Folder
 window for enhanced usability throughout the application. The window includes features such as an address bar, search bar, and quick access locations, to select the desired folder with improved speed and efficiency.

Client Access

We added the
Restrict from Client Access
 checkbox to the Report Profiles screen. Mark this checkbox to prevent client staff from selecting the report profile in their Accounting CS Client Access application (Idea Incubator #399).

Report Designer

We added the following sections to the variable tree: 
  • Client, Workers' Compensation, InsurePay Information
  • Client, Workers' Compensation, XactPay Information

General - Payroll

We updated the
Edit Multiple Employees
 wizard in the 
Employees
 screen to allow the mass assigning of SOC codes for North Carolina and South Carolina employees.

Federal

  • We added the ability to electronically file Corrected Forms 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC via IRIS (Information Return Intake System) (Idea Incubator #7618).
    • There's no additional charge to file Corrected Forms 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC via IRIS if the original files for the client were already e-filed through Accounting CS.
    • We added the
      Original E-file Information
       option to the
      Original - Recipient Data
       and
      Corrected - Recipient Data
       tabs of the
      Edit Payroll Tax Forms
       screen. With this option, you'll need to enter the original Receipt ID, Submission ID, and Record ID for each recipient selected to be corrected.
      • To obtain the Submission ID and Record ID, you'll need to preview the previously accepted 1099 electronic file in the
        Manage Electronic Forms
         window in the
        Process Electronic Forms
         screen.
      • To obtain the Receipt ID needed for the Corrected 1099 e-file when using the Electronic filing method, fill out and submit the Corrected 1099 Receipt ID Request form.
        note
        This form will only be available through April 30, 2024.  Requests for Receipt IDs after April 30 need to be made through normal Support channels.
  • We updated Form 941 and its electronic file.
    note
    The IRS requires Form 8822-B to be filed when the Responsible Party information has changed for a client. By default, we indicate that the Responsible Party information is current with the IRS in all Form 94X electronic files.
  • We updated Forms W-2 and W-3 for 2024 (all copies except for the black-and-white version of Copy A and W-3).

Alabama

We updated Form A-1 and its internet file.
note
If Alabama exempt overtime wages are being reported on the form, you'll need to file using the
Internet
 filing method.

Alaska

We updated Form TQ01C.

Colorado

We updated Form UITR-1 and its internet file. We added Officer and Seasonal columns to the
Employee Data
 tab of the
Edit Payroll Tax Processing
 screen.

Connecticut

We updated Form CT-PFML Worksheet electronic file for zero wage reporting.

Delaware

  • We updated Form WTH-REC and its internet file.
  • We updated Form WTH-TAX.

District of Columbia

We updated Form UC-30 and its internet file.

Florida

We updated Forms RT-6 and RTS-3.

Georgia

We updated Forms G-7(M) and G-7(Q).

Illinois

We updated Form UI-3/40.

Kentucky

  • We added the City of Lyndon tax agent and Form Quarterly.  (Idea Incubator #7793)
  • We added Wilder OLF tax to the Campbell County Fiscal Court tax agent and removed it from its existing tax agent.
  • We renamed the City of Pikeville Tax Division to
    City of Pikeville Tax Department
    .
  • We renamed Director of Finance City of Morehead to
    City of Morehead
    , as well as added the Monthly deposit schedule to the tax agent.
  • We renamed Mayfield City Clerk to the

Louisiana

We updated Forms L-1 and L-3.

Maryland

We updated Form MW508.

Michigan

  • We updated Form 5081 and its electronic file.
  • Big Rapids City Treasurer - We updated Forms BR-941_MNTHLY and BR-941_QRTLY as well as the form filing address on the tax agent.
  • City of Grayling - We updated Form GR-941 as well as the form filing address on the tax agent.
  • State of Michigan – Detroit - We updated Form 5321 and its electronic file. We removed the Quarterly deposit schedule from the tax agent.
    note
    Clients that currently have the Quarterly deposit schedule will be updated to now have the Monthly deposit schedule.

Missouri

  • Gregory F.X. Daly, Collector of Revenue - We updated Form St Louis_W-10.
  • Gregory F.X. Daly, Collector of Revenue (ER EXP) - We updated Form St Louis_P-10.

Nebraska

We updated Form 941N.

Nevada

We added Forms TAX-F003 and TAX-F002. These replace Forms TXR-020 and TXR-021.

North Carolina

We updated Form NCUI 101 and its internet file to include SOC Codes for employees. We added the SOC Code column to the
Employee Data
 tab of the
Edit Payroll Tax Forms
 screen.

Ohio

Columbus City Treasurer - We updated Forms IT-11 and IT-11J.

Oregon

  • Eugene Community Safety Payroll Tax - We updated Form EUG-PY-2.
  • Eugene Community Safety Payroll Tax (ER) - We updated Form EUG-PY-1.

  • We added the following taxes to the HAB-LST tax agent, and removed them from their existing tax agents:

Rhode Island

We updated Forms TX-17 and TX-17 (Continuation).

South Carolina

  • We updated Form UCE-101 internet file to include Hours Worked and SOC Codes for employees. We added the Hours Worked and SOC Code columns to the
    Employee Data
     tab of the 
    Edit Payroll Tax Forms
     screen.
  • We updated Form WH-1605.

Vermont

  • We updated the direct deposit information required to produce an ACH credit file for the Vermont Department of Taxes tax agent.
  • We updated the Healthcare Contribution rate used for Form WHT-436. Employers are exempt from paying the Healthcare Contribution if they have 4 or fewer full-time employees equivalent (FTE) employees. Effective as of 1st quarter 2024 reporting, employers need to pay an increase Healthcare Contribution amount for each uncovered FTE employee above the 4 FTE exemption threshold.
