We released version 2026.2.0 on June 25, 2026 with the following changes.
General
We updated the following items to provide additional support of SQL Server 2025.
The database updater process, which occurs when first opening the database on a new application version, now applies the SQL Server 2025 compatibility level when the database is hosted on a SQL Server 2025 instance.
The SQL Server Express size-limit warning message now reflects the increased 50 GB maximum database size in SQL Server 2025 Express, which is up from the maximum database size of 10 GB in earlier versions.
CS QuickBooks Data Utility for QuickBooks Desktop
Important!
We enhanced the encryption and security of the CS QuickBooks Data Utility for QuickBooks Desktop. To continue using the Accounting CS integration with QuickBooks Desktop and ensure uninterrupted access, both applications need to be updated to the versions listed below, or later.
Firms using Virtual Office CS or Software-as-a-Service will receive the Accounting CS update automatically. However, firm staff and client staff on local machines where QuickBooks Desktop and the CS QuickBooks Data Utility are installed will need to ensure they have the latest version of the CS QuickBooks Data Utility installed.

Based on further guidance and clarification from the State of Minnesota, we reverted a change made in Accounting CS v. 2026.1.0 to the PFML calculation for officers. Going forward, when the
PFML small employer
checkbox is marked in the
Clients
screen, PFML calculates at the reduced 0.66% rate for all employees, regardless of officer status (0.44% employee / 0.22% employer). When the checkbox is unmarked, PFML calculates at the standard 0.88% rate for all employees (0.44% employee / 0.44% employer).
