Set up data location profiles for Client Access

When setting up a client to use Accounting CS Client Access, you'll need to manage client portals from Accounting CS (rather than from NetFirm CS).
important
You should always set up Client Access in Accounting CS. Do not set it up in Virtual Office first as that will cause problems with the set up.
Internal use only
If you get a call about this, you'll need to transfer them to the Accounting CS queue, not the Virtual Office queue.
Since it's managed in Accounting CS, you'll need to create data location profiles so your client's staff members only see the data they're supposed to see. Each data location profile is associated with a unique shared network location that you can assign to one more more Client Access users. This data location profile is where they can access Accounting CS data (based on what you've enabled), reports or other files created from Accounting CS (such as ACH or EFTPS files), Microsoft Office files and/or FileCabinet CS documents.
note
If you set the same data location profile for multiple clients, each client staff member will have to access
all
information in that data location.
  1. In Accounting CS, select
    Setup
    from the main menu.
  2. Go to
    Firm Information
    and select
    Data Location Profiles
    .
  3. Select
    Add
    .
  4. Enter a profile description.
  5. Select
    Enter
    to save the profile.
Next, you'll need to apply settings for Client Access users.
