Process XactPAY files

Enter and print your payroll checks as you typically would. After printing the checks, the XactPAY file is queued in the Process XactPAY Files screen.
tip
You can skip these steps if you've set up the application to automatically transmit files to The Hartford.
  1. Select
    Actions
    ,
    Process Workers' Compensation Files
    , then
    Process XactPAY Files
    .
  2. Select the
    Setup
    tab to make sure that all clients with consent files have transmitted setup files. (The setup file needs to be sent before payroll files can be processed for the 1st time for the client).
  3. Select the
    Payroll
    tab.
  4. Mark the checkboxes for the payroll files to send, and then select
    Process Files
    .

You can review and recreate payroll and setup files and view consent files that you previously processed in then
Manage Workers' Compensation Files
window.

Create back payroll files

You might need to create back payroll files if you signed up to use XactPAY and performed a payroll run before retrieving the consent file.
  1. Select
    Actions
    ,
    Process Workers' Compensation Files
    , then
    Process XactPAY Files
    .
  2. On the
    Payroll
    tab, select
    Create Back Payroll Files
    .
  3. Select the client name and the date after which you want to check for payrolls that haven't yet been processed in an XactPAY file.
  4. Select
    Create
    .
    note
    The application creates back payroll files only if the period begin, period end, and check dates are wall within the active consent file date range.
