Set up a bank for your firm
Create a comprehensive bank entry that will simplify your firm's financial processes.
The
Banks
screen is where you keep all routing numbers used by your firm's clients. Adding bank information here makes data entry easier and helps prevent mistakes.Follow these steps to add a new routing number to your firm's database.
- SelectSetup,Firm Information, thenBanks.
- SelectAdd.
- Enter the 9-digit routing number in theRouting numberfield.note
- The system won't let you save an invalid routing number.
- For Canadian banks, use this format: 12345-678.
- To print the fractional routing number on checks, enter the Federal Reserve district number in theFractional routing numberfield. The system will fill in the rest.
- Enter the bank's name in theBank namefield. This name will appear on all related checks and reports.
- Add the bank's address. Select
to use address verification to auto-fill City,State, andZIP.note- You can add up to 3 addresses. Select
to switch between them. - Mark theMailing addresscheckbox to mark the primary address.
- Enter phone and fax numbers.noteSelect
to add multiple numbers. - Add email and website information.noteAfter entering this information, you can use
to begin a new email, or
to open the bank's website. - SelectEnterto save your new bank entry.
