The Massachusetts Division of Unemployment Assistance accepts ACH Debit and ACH Credit payments of unemployment insurance.
  • Third-party administrators who pay quarterly unemployment insurance taxes on behalf of a client company are required to pay via ACH.
  • Any employer can make ACH Credit payments voluntarily.
The Massachusetts Division of Unemployment Assistance requires all ACH Credit users to apply for approval before submitting ACH Credit payments. However, no approval is required for submitting ACH Debit payments.

The Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) accepts EFT Debit and EFT Credit payments of withholding taxes.
Any business taxpayer registered with Massachusetts DOR is eligible to remit their withholding taxes via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
The Massachusetts Department of Revenue requires all EFT users to apply for approval before submitting tax payment files.

  • The settlement date in your file is blank because the application uses the default settlement date established by the State of Massachusetts. The default settlement date for files submitted to the State of Massachusetts is one business day after the file is received. If the file is received by the state after 4:00 PM EST, the transaction will be processed in two business days. You cannot specify a different settlement date.
  • Enter the Massachusetts QUEST Agent code in the Transmitter Information dialog, accessed from the Process Internet/Magnetic Files screen.
