The Pennsylvania Department of e-Services (myPATH) accepts EFT Debit and EFT Credit payments of withholding taxes.
  • Payment via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) is mandatory for payments over $20,000.00.
  • Employers making payments for less than that mandatory threshold can file via EFT voluntarily.

  • Form PA-501 is still required on the regular due date for the particular tax period being paid, even if you are paying Pennsylvania unemployment via EFT.
  • Per Form PA-501 instructions, the form does not print with the liability check when the payment method is set to Electronic for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue (in the Payment Preferences section of the Main tab of the Vendors screen).
  • Form PA-501, per form instructions, cannot be filed for a semiweekly depositor. The
    Do Not File checkbox
    (in the Payroll Taxes tab of the Setup > Clients screen) is automatically marked for clients who are semiweekly depositors.
