Append a scanned image to a workpaper
- In the Engagement Binders Tree portlet, select the target folder that contains the PDF you want to append a scanned image for.noteOnly PDFs that were originally scanned into the application are available for selection.
- Select theScan Workpapercommand in the toolbar of the Engagement Binders Tree portlet.
- If your computer is connected to more than 1 scanner source, selectSelect Sourceto select the scanner that you want to use in the Workpaper Type screen of the wizard. (Note thatScanis automatically selected in the Source field when you selectScan Workpaper.)
- SelectAppend to existing workpaper, highlight the target PDF in the workpapers grid, then selectNext.
- The selected workpapers or images are available for previewing in theScan Workpaperscreen of the wizard. Rotate or delete pages before adding the workpapers or images to the engagement binder then selectNext.
- SelectFinishin theWorkpaper Propertiesscreen to append the scanned image to the selected workpaper.

- All scanned workpapers are created as a PDF and can be edited in the PDF editor as needed.
- For specific information about the operation of your scanner or device, please refer to the user manual.
- To help you achieve the best quality and minimize file size (DPI is the document's resolution), we recommend that you scan documents at 400 DPI, black and white (also known as binary, text, and monochrome). If you have to scan in color or grayscale, set the resolution to no greater than 300 DPI, otherwise you may produce file sizes in excess of 1 megabyte per page.
- When you scan directly into FileCabinet CS from the application, the images obtained by your scanner are scanned directly into FileCabinet CS, and if your scanner supports duplex scanning, the images are imported into FileCabinet CS as duplex images.
