About units

Units represent your firm's usage entitlement for Audit Intelligence Analyze. Understand how units are consumed, managed, and expired.

Units

Units represent usage entitlement for Audit Intelligence Analyze and are managed at the firm level, not per individual user. All users within your firm share the same unit pool. Units are not a subscription model — they are consumed only when specific actions are performed in the product.

    screen displays the following information:
    • Current available units.
    • Usage history, including when units were consumed, by whom, and for which engagement.
    • Unit expiration dates, if your firm has multiple batches of units.

How units are consumed

The 1st time you run Analyze set up for any audit area or subledger on a new dataset consumes 1 unit. The following actions don't consume additional units:
  • Reconfiguring set up parameters
  • Re-running an analysis
You can select multiple audit areas for the same engagement. Each audit area consumes 1 unit.

Unit consumption model: first-in-first-out (FIFO)

When your firm has multiple batches of units with different expiration dates, the system consumes units using a first-in-first-out (FIFO) model:
  • The system consumes units from the earliest expiring batch first.
  • Once that batch is fully depleted or expires, consumption moves to the next batch.
This ensures your oldest units are used before they expire.

Unit expiration rules

Units expire 12 months after the purchase date. This is a use-it-or-lose-it policy — unused units don’t roll over after expiration, and the system removes expired units from your firm's balance.
If your firm purchases units at different times, each batch transfers its own expiration date. For example:
  • Your firm purchases units in 2 batches:
    • 25 units in January 2025 (expiring January 2026)
    • 25 units in June 2025 (expiring June 2026)
  • The system consumes units from the January batch first (FIFO).
  • If the January batch expires before full use, remaining units are lost and consumption shifts to the June batch.
important
Units don’t auto-renew or auto-top-up. Your firm needs to purchase additional units manually before the balance reaches 0.
