Error: Sample size too large or too small

Incorrect risk settings or sampling entries can cause the
Sample size too large

Sample size too small
 errors.

Scenario

You may get one of the following error messages when generating a sample.

Cause

RoMM, Substantive Procedure Risk, population balance, expected misstatement, or tolerable misstatement may affect sample size.

Solution: Review risk settings and sampling entries

  1. Review the RoMM and Substantive Procedure Risk settings.
  2. Check the population balance. Very small balances may result in very small samples.
  3. Verify the expected misstatement. If the expected misstatement exceeds one-third of the tolerable misstatement, the system displays a warning.
  4. Review the tolerable misstatement value.
