Select text using mode buttons in Case Notebook

Mode buttons are available on every transcript, document, pleading, or research document. To use mode buttons, follow these steps:
  1. Select the
    arrow
    near
    Annotate Mode
    .
  2. By default,
    Annotate Mode
    is selected for every document type. When you select text, the Annotation Properties window is displayed. You have other options when you select text, depending on the type of document.
  3. Select
    Apply Issue Mode
    to apply issues to selected text.
    1. Select an issue button on the
      Main Menu toolbar
      .
    2. Select your text.
    The issue is instantly applied to your selection.
  4. Select
    Copy
    to copy selected text.
    You can paste into another document or outline.
  5. Select
    Copy with Page and Line
    to transfer transcript text with page and line numbers and transcript information.
    1. Select your text.
    2. Open an outline.
    3. Paste copied text.

Mode buttons for documents and pleadings

If your document or pleading is a PDF or image file, the following options are available:
  • Select Mode
    • Use to transfer a portion of the document or pleading to an outline or document.
  • Zoom Selection Mode
    • Use this to magnify selected text.

Mode buttons for research documents

  • Use
    Copy (with Citation)
    to transfer the citation with its text in a research document.
  • Select the text.
  • Open another application.
  • Paste the copied text.
