Error: We are unable to retrieve your Checkpoint User ID
If you can't verify your Checkpoint ID during installation, update your AccountNum.xml file manually or uninstall the PPCWebAlliedInstaller.
Scenario
You may get the following error message after entering your correct username and email address.
Error message
We are unable to retrieve your Checkpoint User ID. Please enter it, then click Continue. You can find this account number on the Checkpoint Website. See the picture below as an example of where to find your Checkpoint User ID.
Solution 1
- Go toC:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\PPCWebAlliedInstaller.
- Select theAccountNum.xmlfile, cut it, and paste it on your desktop.
- From your desktop, open the file in Notepad.
- Enter the Checkpoint ID number in between theCheckpoint IDfield.<?xml version="1.0"?> <Configuration> <CheckpointID>[Enter ID]</CheckpointID> <DownloadLocation>/DownloadLocation/HostElement> </Configuration>
- Save the file and paste it back to the directory.
- Re-run the set up file.
Solution 2
- SelectControl PanelandPrograms and Features.
- UninstallPPCWebAlliedInstaller.
- Re-run the set up file.
