Turn off reading mode

Make sure macros are enabled and there are no issues with the add-ins.
If you can't edit a document directly from Checkpoint Tools, the document is likely in
Reading Mode
. This usually happens when you edit a Word document, save it, then try to reopen it. To edit it again, you'll need to turn off reading mode.
  1. Close the Word document.
  2. Open a blank Word document.
  3. Select
    File
    Options
    .
  4. Unmark the
    Open E-mail Attachments and other uneditable files in reading view
     checkbox.
  5. Select
    OK
     and reopen the Word document you need to edit.
