SharePoint connector
Complete the following steps to connect SharePoint and CoCounsel. You can also watch this video for detailed guidance.
- Go to the Microsoft Entra Admin Center.
- From the navigation bar, selectApplications, thenApp registrations.
- SelectNew registration.
- In the registration screen, provide the following details:
- Name:Enter a name to identify this application, such as CoCounsel.
- Redirect URI:Enter the redirect URL. For platform selectWeb.noteTo find the redirect URL, go toCoCounsel Application, Manage, Admin Settings, Integrations, DMS integrations via Syncly, then Get your redirect URL and view setup info.
- SelectRegister.
- Navigate toAPI permissionsfor the new application.
- Add the following permissions and select Grant admin consent:
- Microsoft Graphs: Sites.Read.All and User.Read
- SharePoint: User.Read
- Navigate toCertificates & secretsand create aNew client secret.
- Description:Enter a description to identify the client secret, such as CoCounsel.
- Expires:Enter a client secret expiry.
- Copy theValuefor the newly created Client secret. This will be your Client Secret in the next step.
- Navigate toApp Overviewand save theApplication (client) IDandDirectory (tenant) ID. They will be needed in the next step.
Add SharePoint connector
- Be sure you sign in to the CoCounsel application as an administrator.
- Go toManage,Admin Settings,Integrations, thenDMS integrations via Syncly.
- SelectNew integration.
- SelectSharePointas your Connector.
- Fill in the following fields:
- Name:Enter a name to identify the instance, such as SharePoint Online.
- Client Id:Enter the Application (client) ID from the previous step.
- Secret Key:Copy and paste the Value from the client secret from the previous step.
- Refresh Token:Leave as the default.
- Tenant ID:Enter the Directory (tenant) ID from the previous step.
- SelectAdd connector. The connector is added with an active state.
Set up the connector in SharePoint
- Go to theMicrosoft Entra Admin Center.
- Enter the redirect URL.noteTo find the redirect URL, go toCoCounsel Application,Admin settings,Integration pageunderHow to set up your integrations.

- Copy theValue.
- Set the following application permissions and selectGrant admin consent.noteThese are delegated permissions and require a user token.
- Microsoft Graphs
- Sites.Read.All
- User.Read
- SharePoint
- AllSites.Read

Add the SharePoint connector
- Be sure you sign in to the application as an administrator.
- Go to .
- SelectNew connection.
- Select SharePoint as yourConnector.
- Fill in the following fields:
- Name:Enter a name to identify the instance, such as SharePoint Online.
- Client Id:This is a randomly generated string by SharePoint, listed in the application's record from step 1.
- Secret Key:Copy and paste the random string from the previous step.
- Refresh Token:Leave as the default.
- Tennant ID:Enter the unique Syncly string of characters from step 1.
- SelectAdd connector. The connector is added with an active state.When you add the connector, it's available for all other people to view in their list of external Document Management System (DMS) connections. Every individual runs through the authorization process the 1st time they sign in.noteWe recommend administrators authorizing as soon as you add the connector. This way, you can test the connection before other people begin using it.
