Usage analytics
As a CoCounsel administrator, you can access
Usage Analytics
dashboard that provides comprehensive insights into how CoCounsel is being used across the organization. This tool helps you track user engagement, identify active and inactive users, and monitor how different features are being used enabling you to:
- Identify areas where users require additional support to boost engagement.
- Understand usage patterns to manage licenses effectively.
- Effectively track and report value and effectiveness.
Access the dashboard
CoCounsel administrators can access the
Usage analytics
dashboard by going to their user profile from the sidebar, then selecting .The
Usage analytics
dashboard includes the following views:- Summarytab:
- Summaryview provides comprehensive view of platform usage across the entire organization, revealing trends and patterns to measure adoption and ROI.
- For a given timeframe:
- It provides aggregated data at the organizational level for all KPIs.
- Administrators can monitor KPI usage trends on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
- You can additionally export overtime trends data by selectingmore optionson the chart.
- By individualtab:
- The graph outlines the top 5 users among the selected criteria on the dropdown.
- Aggregated displays a breakdown of each user's usage. It is also available in theBy skilltab.
- By individualview provides insights into each users’ activity, for a nuanced understanding of how each user interacts with the platform helping identify training needs and manage licenses effectively.
- For a given timeframe:
- It provides aggregated data at the individual user level for all KPIs.
- You can export table data by selectingMore optionson the chart.
- Individuals who have never signed in/engaged in an activity during the selected timeframe are excluded from the list.
- By skill and workflowtab:
- By skill and workflowsview provides an overview of skills usage across an entire organization and by individual users enabling customers to understand the types of work an organization is leveraging CoCounsel the most.
- For a given timeframe:
- Provides aggregated usage data by skill at org level and individual using it.
- Provides usage over time view by skill.
- Provides skill usage by individual.
- You can additionally export table/chart data by selectingmore optionson the chart.
Key metrics
- Active Users:Unique users who interacted with CoCounsel by performing any action beyond signing in.
- Chat threads:Number of conversation chat threads initiated within the AI Assistant. Chat threads can be viewed in the Assistant history.
- Messages sent:Total text messages sent to the AI Assistant within chat threads.
- Skills run:Number of instances AI Assistant skills or functions have been utilized.
- Matters:Number of matters created within the AI Assistant. Matters can be viewed in the Assistant history.
- Files Uploaded:Total files uploaded across chats, matters, and databases.
- Databases:Number of databases created in the system.
- Database Storage:Total storage occupied by files uploaded to databases, expressed in GB.

Analytics are impacted when data is deleted from the system by the user or when an organization requests CoCounsel to remove data via data retention requests.
Common questions
- Usage stats have a 24-hour lag time and are not real time.There is a 24-hour delay with the analytics. If you are a first-time user accessing the usage analytics dashboard, you need to wait 24 hours to view it.
- Usage analytics reports CoCounsel usage across all integrated platforms, not in the web application only.This includes Westlaw, Practical Law, Microsoft products like Word, Teams, and Outlook, as well as any future integrations such as HighQ.
- Usage analytics reports on all skills, not only core skills.This includes skills like AAR, Practical Law search and summarize, draft, modify, or find a clause, and any future skills that will be added to the Assistant.
