Create a custom playbook from a contract

Generate a custom playbook by importing an existing contract into CoCounsel for Microsoft Word. Automatically extract clauses and add negotiation guidance to standardize future contract reviews.
Follow these steps to create a playbook from an existing contract.
  1. Open your existing contract in Word, then select the
    CoCounsel
     add-in to open the menu.
  2. Make sure you have selected
    Transactional
     as the practice area.
  3. Select the
    All features
     icon , then select
    Playbooks & Clauses
    .
  4. Select
    Import
    , then
    Import contract
    .
  5. Choose how to import your document.
    • Use the open document
    • Upload a file
  6. Review the generated playbook. The playbook will appear in the panel and is private by default.
  7. Review playbook details. CoCounsel names the playbook and provides a summary description, identifying the parties involved.
  8. Examine identified clauses.
    1. Select the
      Edit
       icon for a clause.
    2. Review the preferred clause example extracted by CoCounsel.
      note
      You can select
      Show source
       to view the source of the extracted clause.
  9. Add additional details to the playbook.
    • Negotiation Guidance
    • Escalation Guidance
    • External messaging
    • Scenarios
  10. Select
    Save
     after completing clause edits.
  11. Select
    Add clause
     to add more clauses if needed.
