CoCounsel Core Monthly Release Notes September-October 2025

We're happy to bring you the latest updates from CoCounsel. Each month, our Release Notes highlight new product launches and improvements we've made to enhance your experience.

Product Updates

New - Practice-Area-Specific Prompts in the CoCounsel Library
Practice area experts have created a curated library of ready‑to‑use prompts tailored for real legal work across key practice areas. Each prompt is mapped to a clearly defined use case and has been tested by the Al Reliability team to ensure consistent, high‑quality output. For users, this means that prompts in the CoCounsel Library will now mirror everyday, practice area specific matters with no prompt-engineering needed.
Simply access the library and sort prompts by granular practice area using the
'Tags'
filter to browse criminal law, personal injury, data privacy, litigation, employment, finance, real estate, corporate, and commercial transactions.
New Feature - Google Drive Connector via Syncly
We've added Google Drive to the list of DMS's available for connection in CoCounsel. By enabling direct access to the appropriate DMS documents within CoCounsel, this feature eliminates the cumbersome download-and-reupload process, saving time and allowing you start work on your matter faster with less administrative overhead.
New Skill - Identify Citation Issues
The Identify Citation Issues skill in CoCounsel enables users to check an uploaded document for citation issues, giving users greater confidence that the citations they are using are true and accurate citations. Users simply upload their documents, prompt the skill to run, and CoCounsel will show potential citation issues from your document in an easy to read, side by side table comparing the citation in your document and the citation (or lack thereof) on Westlaw.
New Skill - Contract Policy Compliance
Contract Policy Compliance (CPC) is now live for CoCounsel customers in United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, and can be accessed in the Library or by query in the CoCounsel chat.
Contract Policy Compliance lets users upload a contract, then specify what requirements (or policies) the contract must comply with, and CoCounsel will offer suggested edits that bring the contract into compliance with your stated policies.
Additionally, Contract Policy Compliance is getting an upgrade in all regions. Now, you'll be able to save policies to your favorites after entering them, or after reviewing your results. Simply select "save to favorites" in either window to save policies for future use. Once you have saved policies, you'll be able to add favorite policies when you enter policies on your next review.
New - Workflow Update - Customize a Practical Law Agreement
The Customize a Practical Law Agreement workflow in CoCounsel has been updated with three new agreements. Users can now create Commercial Lease Amendments (Short Form), Software as a Service (SaaS) Agreements (Pro-Provider, Short Form), and Software as a Service (SaaS) Agreements (Pro-Customer, Short Form).
New Feature - CoCounsel Library
The new CoCounsel Library houses prompts and skills that serve as curated starting points, helping customers remove the guesswork from prompting. The Library enables users to easily discover the capabilities CoCounsel offers and get started on projects faster.
To access the CoCounsel Library, select the Library button in the CoCounsel chat box. This replaces the existing 'CoCounsel Skills' button.
