skill helps you analyze your document, such as a contract, against a standard (ideal or exemplar) document.
Features and benefits
Upload the document you want to analyze, along with your “standard” (ideal or exemplar) document.
CoCounsel will create a report that identifies key missing elements and areas of deviation.
This skill works particularly well with documents containing contractual language.

in the CoCounsel Library.
CoCounsel will instruct you to upload the document you want to benchmark and any standard document against which you want to compare it.
Select
Upload
and select the relevant files.
Instruct CoCounsel in the chat that your uploaded document is your standard document.
CoCounsel will output 2 tables, which you can download.
1 table will contain benchmark results, showing how and where clauses in your primary document deviate from your standard document, with associated suggested changes.
The other table will contain a list of missing or extraneous clauses, that is, clauses that appear in 1 document but not in the other.
The tables will contain footnotes that let you identify where in your documents the relevant clauses appear.
Limitations to keep in mind
The skill may take a few minutes to run.
