Review documents with tabular analysis
Tabular analysis lets you review thousands of documents at once by running custom questions across an entire document set. Use it to surface key information for litigation discovery or transactional review.
- SelectTabular Analysisfrom the sidebar.
- Select the+ New tablebutton.
- Enter a table name and selectCreate.CoCounsel creates a blank table.
- SelectDocuments, then choose one of the following options:
- SelectEntire databaseto use an existing database in CoCounsel. A database can include up to 10,000 files.
- SelectCreate a new databaseto upload copies of the documents you want to review. CoCounsel names the new database using the table name you entered.
- If you are creating a new database, add your files by selecting one of the following options, then selectContinue:
- Upload files
- Upload from external DMS
CoCounsel lists all related documents in the table. - Select+ Questions, then choose how to add your questions:
- Select the type from the dropdown, then enter the questions manually.
- SelectImport, then use one of the following methods:
- SelectUpload questionsto import a list. Select your file, then selectUpload questionsto confirm.
- SelectPaste from clipboard, paste using Ctrl + V, then selectImport.
- SelectAdd from favorites, select your favorites by marking the checkbox, then selectAdd.
- SelectGenerateif you want CoCounsel to generate review questions, then selectAdd.
noteIf you want to save your questions, select
Add to favorites. Enter a name, then selectAdd to favorites. - Review and manage your questions as needed, then selectUpdate table.
- To edit a question, select theEdit questionicon next to it.
- To delete a question, select theDelete questionicon next to it.
- To add more questions, select the+ Newbutton on the question list.
- SelectStart reviewto begin processing.CoCounsel populates the table with responses, answering each question for every document. A progress tracker displays the processing status.
- Review your results using the available table controls:
- Select a column header to sort results in ascending or descending order.
- SelectFilterto filter your results.
- Use the rows-per-page control and arrows to adjust how many rows appear and to move between pages.
- SelectDownloadto export the table as an Excel spreadsheet.
