Sign in to CoCounsel for the 1st time
Follow these steps to sign in to CoCounsel for the 1st time. The steps will vary depending on whether you already have a Thomson Reuters account. This sign-in experience applies to CoCounsel Tax & Audit, Ready to Advise, and Ready to Review, which are all hosted within the CoCounsel application.

- Enter the email address associated with your CoCounsel account. This is the same email address your admin used to invite you to the platform.
- Sign in using the option that applies to you.
- If you already have a Thomson Reuters account:The Thomson Reuters sign-in page opens. Enter the password you use for your other Thomson Reuters products and selectSign In.If you have forgotten your password, selectReset Passwordand follow the on-screen steps. Once signed in, CoCounsel opens and you're ready to get started.
- If you don’t yet have a Thomson Reuters account:A notification window displays letting you know that the platform has been upgraded for better security and asking you to set a new password to continue. SelectContinue.A message confirms that your email address is linked to a CoCounsel account and you'll receive an email with instructions to reset your password. Continue with steps 4, 5, and 6.
- Check your inbox for 2 separate emails:
- A verification email asking you to confirm your account.
- A password reset email with a link to set your new password.
- Open the verification email first and confirm your account before proceeding.
- Set your new password.
- Open the password reset email and selectChange Password.
- On the Thomson Reuters Account page, enter and confirm your new password.
- SelectChange Password.
A confirmation screen lets you know your password has been updated. You'll also receive a confirmation email for your records. - Return to https://accounting.cocounsel.thomsonreuters.com, re-enter your email address and your newly created password, then selectSign In.CoCounsel opens and you are ready to get started.
