Groups and group permissions

Company Groups help organizations effectively manage access to company-level documents. Administrators can upload files to the Company Documents section that all users within a group can view. Create different Company Groups to control which document sets specific users can access.
We recommend setting up separate Company Groups if your organization needs to provide different teams or departments with distinct sets of company-level documents. This ensures users access only relevant materials. Note that Company Groups are not required in CoCounsel if everyone at your firm needs the same access to documents.
A group consists of users who access specific resources not available to others. Creating different Company Groups lets organizations control document accessibility for specific users. Users can publish templates to their own groups to share with others in that group.
As an administrator, you can:
  • Create new groups
  • Add users to groups
  • Manage group settings and permissions
  • Delete groups (except the default group)
Each organization begins with a default company group. The system assigns users without group assignments to the default company group.
note
You can't delete the default group.
