Filing Dashboard

Overview

The
Filing Dashboard
is your central hub for managing all approved returns. It provides visibility into filing status, transmission history, and acknowledgment tracking.
To access the
Filing Dashboard
:
  • Go to
    Ready to Review
    , then
    Filing Dashboard
    in the navigation panel.
Dashboard Features
The
Filing Dashboard
displays:
  • Return Information:
    • Client and Project name
    • Return type (Return, Extension, Estimate)
  • Status Information:
    • Current filing status (for example, Ready to Transmit, Transmitted, Accepted, Rejected)
    • Dates (approval date, transmission date, acknowledgment date)
  • Available Actions:
    • View e-file
    • Transmit e-file
    • Print Tax Return
    • Mark as Paper Filed

Filing status definitions

  • E-File Ready to Transmit
    The return has been approved and an electronic file has been created. It is ready for transmission to the tax authority.
  • E-File Transmitted
    The return has been sent to the tax authority and is awaiting acknowledgment.
  • E-File Accepted
    The tax authority has accepted the return. Filing is complete.
  • E-File Rejected
    The tax authority has rejected the return. Review the rejection reason and make corrections.
  • Diagnostics Exist
    The return has pending diagnostics that need to be cleared before transmission is available.
  • Re-Approval Needed
    This status indicates you must re-approve the return for electronic filing.

Transmit e-files

Once a return is approved and shows
Ready to Transmit
status:
  1. Locate the return:
    1. Find the return on the Filing Dashboard
  2. Initiate transmission:
    1. Select
      Actions
      , then
      Transmit E-file
      .
    2. Confirm you want to transmit the return.
  3. Monitor status:
    1. The status will update to
      E-File transmitted
      .
    2. Refresh the dashboard to see updated status and retrieve acknowledgments from the tax authority.
  4. View acknowledgment:
    1. Once acknowledged, the status will update to
      Accepted
      or
      Rejected
      on dashboard refresh.
    2. You can review acknowledgment details by selecting the
      View filing details
      icon next in the filing status column. Here you can review the rejection reason and error codes if applicable.

View e-files

Before or after transmission, you can view the electronic file:
  1. Select
    Actions
    , then
    View E-file
    for the return.
  2. The system will display the e-file XML.
  3. Verify the contents, including:
    1. Taxpayer information
    2. Income and deduction amounts
    3. Attached PDF documents (search for PDF references in the XML)

Handle rejections

If a return is rejected by the tax authority:
  1. Review rejection details:
    1. The Filing Dashboard will display the rejection status.
    2. Select the
      View filing details
      icon next to the rejection filing status to view specific rejection reasons and error codes for your return.
  2. Correct the issues:
    1. Go back to the tax return project.
    2. Go to the
      Prepare
      tab.
    3. Make necessary corrections based on the rejection reason.
    4. Address any new diagnostics that appear.
  3. Re-approve and retransmit:
    1. Once corrections are made, re-approve the return.
    2. The return will reappear on the Filing Dashboard as
      Ready to Transmit
      .
    3. Transmit the corrected return.

Mark returns as paper filed

If you filed a return by mail instead of electronically:
  1. Locate the return on the Filing Dashboard.
  2. Select
    Actions
    , then
    Mark as Paper Filed
    .
  3. The return status will update to
    Paper Filed
    .
This helps you track which returns have been filed and maintain accurate records.
