Check issues

The "Check issues" feature in Contract Express performs a comprehensive analysis of your template to identify any issues that may affect the document generation or questionnaire functionality. It can identify sections not included in a generated template due to incorrect application of business rules, pinpoint irrelevant variables, and detect questions that appear out of order in the questionnaire.
It categorises the issues into errors (amber triangle) and warnings (blue information icon). The issues are further categorised by type to provide context.

Any issues identified are displayed in the window section.
The direct navigation feature, marked by a Navigation arrow. symbol, enables users to swiftly access the location of specific issue.
To keep the list of issues in view while checking the details in the Markup or Questionnaire tab, select Undock and move the issue list to the side or to another screen. Close the pop-up to return to the docked view.

Template name and generated document name

The template name is a required field that uniquely identifies the template upon server upload and will be shown to the end users when they search for the relevant template.
In the generated document name, we can also include dynamic information by using active text so that the generated document is readily identifiable. Active text is added with the curly brackets and can contain a markup expression containing variables or functions . For example:
“Contract Lease for {LandlordName} - {today}”.

Upload and test

To check your progress with template creation, test the template by uploading it and launching the questionnaire. The questionnaire will then open in a web browser.

Manage template
The 'Manage Template' option will open a web browser and take you to the template details page within Contract Express. On this page, you have several options for managing your templates. You can share your template with other authors, assign the relevant profile and locale to ensure the correct customisation options and settings are applied.

Once the template is ready, publish and share it with the end users.
If you need automation logic that isn't available in the new author add-in, switch to the original author add-in and convert your template from content-control markup to character-based markup.
