Controls the output file format, naming behaviour, and format restrictions applied when documents are generated.
Format for users with write or full access
Controls the output format of documents generated by users with unrestricted access. Available options include:
  • DOC
    – Word binary format
  • DOCX
    – Native Word format used during document generation (recommended)
  • DOCX with locked PDF download option
    – Available only in standalone Contract Express (not supported in HighQ DocAuto)
  • PDF
    – Portable Document Format (not locked)
  • RTF
    – Rich Text Format

Format for users with read-only access
overrides this setting.

  • Locked PDF

This setting applies to documents shared with other users or generated as part of an approval process. It also controls the format of templates generated using
{Attach Locked Template}
.
Name of document set
Controls how the default name of a set of generated documents is determined.
  • Use the name of the first document in the set
    – Uses the name of the first document produced.
  • Use the name of the top template even when it produces no document
    – Uses the name of the parent template regardless of output.
The selected name appears under the
My Documents
tab.
