Set Drafting Assistant Favorites

Drafting Assistant lets you set favorite start pages, return to the feature list easily, choose a default validation jurisdiction and skipped rules, and manage automatic or manual content updates.

Set up Drafting Assistant favorites

You can make many Drafting Assistant features your landing page, if you want to go directly to that feature after sign-on. A star next to a feature indicates it can be made a favorite. Select the
star
and choose
Set as start page
.
If you want to go back to the feature list, select the
Home
icon or the
Drafting Assistant US
button in the ribbon.
If you want to remove a favorite, select the star next to the feature again, or, if you want to select a new favorite, select the star next to that new feature and select
Continue
.

Set up Drafting Assistant options

You can customize certain aspects of Drafting Assistant in Word by selecting the
User
icon, and then
Options
. For example, you can select a default jurisdiction for Validate Doc Formatting, and choose whether to update Templates and Sample Documents content automatically or manually.

Set up a Default Jurisdiction for Validation

Select a default jurisdiction and select rules to omit when using Validate Doc Formatting in Drafting Assistant.
  1. Select
    Options
    in the expanded user menu in the Drafting Tools window in Word.
  2. Select
    Rules
    at the top of the window.
  3. Select a jurisdiction from the Default Court for Validation list.
  4. Optionally, select rules to omit from the
    Skip the Following Rules When Running Validation
    list of options.
  5. Select
    Save
    to apply changes.
  6. Select
    Close
    .

Customize content updates

When you install Drafting Assistant, model documents and sample forms are automatically installed with the software and are available in the Templates and Sample Documents folders. Drafting Assistant lets you customize your content updates.
  1. Select
    Options
    in the expanded user menu in the Drafting Tools window in Word.
  2. Select Content Updater at the top of the window.
  3. By default, Drafting Assistant automatically updates content. To change the update mode to manual updates, select
    Manual
    . To manually update content:
    • Select
      Update
      to check for content updates now.
    • Select
      Reset
      to get all new content on the next update.
  4. Select
    Save
    to apply changes.
  5. Select
    Close
    .
