Install e-Form RS updates on a Terminal server

Instructions for IT administrators on how to install e-From updates on a Terminal server.
  1. important
    VMWare and actual virtual machines (terminal servers) are the only virtual environments for
    e-Form RS
    that we support, which means:
    • e-Form RS
      has been developed, tested, and designed to run in these environments
    • our support team are trained to utilize
      e-Form RS
      in these environments
    • technical assistance is available for
      e-Form RS
      when it runs in these environments
    Other virtual environments, such as
    Citrix
    , are not supported to run
    e-Form RS
    . Although it may be possible to run
    e-Form RS
    in other environments, its functions and behavior will be unpredictable, won't be guaranteed, and the assistance we can offer will be minimal.
  2. Log in to the terminal server as the same user with Administration rights that was used to install
    e-Form RS
    .
  3. Put the terminal server into Install mode.
  4. Go to the application cache and double-click
    eformRS.exe
    .
    This will update
    e-Form RS
    . The update process will create a new folder to contain the updated files under the
    2.0
    folder in the application cache
  5. Put the terminal server back into Execute mode.
  6. Copy the
    2.0
    folder with the updated files from your Administrator user application cache.
  7. Paste it to
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Apps
    to overwrite the existing
    2.0
    folder.
  8. Open the new copy of the
    2.0
    folder.
  9. In the new
    2.0
    folder, open the newest subfolder with a name that begins with
    efor...tion
  10. In this
    efor...tion
    subfolder, publish the new
    eformRS.exe
    .
