Setup

Program Options in e-Form RS

A list of options you can choose to set up e-Form RS.

Startup Page

Use the Startup Page section to choose which of the following screens you want to show when you open e-Form RS:
  • Home Page
  • Open Form List
  • My Clients List
  • Open last client form visited
  • Open 'Quick Launch" Form List

Program Options

Use the Program Options section to choose which of the following forms display options you want to apply:
  • Always auto display first form listed
  • Always show wizards on saved forms
  • Always display search row with large text
  • Highlight the form field with the cursor
  • Never auto-shrink form text when typing
  • Auto display newly added forms

Remember Last Selections

Use the Remember Last Selections section to choose which of the following e-Form RS screens you want to store your last selections and show them when you next revisit that screen:
  • On Form List Type and Selection
  • On Form Instruction List
  • On Client List
  • Prompt to Divide the Client List into pages
  • Divide the Client List into pages
  • Prompt for Client when displaying blank forms

Toolbars

Use the Toolbars section to choose from the following display options for menu items:
  • Image Only
  • Image and Text
  • Large Font

Font

Use the Font section to choose from the following size and format options for text you enter in forms:
  • Size 8
  • Size 10
  • Size 12
  • Bold
note
The font is set to Courier New and cannot be changed in Program Options because most tax authorities do not guarantee they will accept forms that contain other fonts. The Courier New font is changed by e-Form RS to Optical Character Reader font
OCR-A
 or
OCR-B
 where one of these are required by the tax authority's form.

Currency Fields

You can use the Currency Fields section to choose from the following options:
  • Display Commas
  • ( ) As Negative Indicator
  • Round to Whole Dollars
  • Add Decimal Point
note
You can use
Add Decimal Point
 only if you selected
Round to Whole Dollar
. Decimal points will not be shown on forms with separate dollar and cent fields. Parentheses
( )
 should not be used to indicate negative numbers on forms with separate cent fields.

Date and Time Stamp

Use the Date and Time Stamp section to choose which of the following options you want to include on forms:
  • Display e-Form account numbers on forms
  • Add Date Stamp on Forms
  • Add Time Stamps on Forms in the desired format

Computing Options

The Compute Options section allows you to choose from the following form calculation settings:
  • Display Zero in Computed Fields
  • Skip over Computed Fields
  • Auto Calculation
  • Disable Word-wrap
