Use fund templates

Use fund templates in Engagement Manager to quickly apply a pre-determined fund structure at the engagement level. Before you apply the fund structure to an engagement, we recommend that you set up one or more fund templates first.
tip
You can organize funds for a template into sets to quickly access fund information for reports.

Copy a fund template

Follow these steps to copy a fund template you've already set up in Engagement Manager and modify it to use as a new template.
note
You need to have Modify Fund Templates permissions to complete these steps.
  1. In Engagement Manager, select the gear
    Setup
    , then
    Fund Templates
    .
  2. Select the
    Funds
    tab, then the fund template you want to copy from the dropdown.
  3. Select the copy image
    Copy
    .
  4. Enter a new name for the template.
  5. Mark the
    Exclude Sub Funds
    and
    Exclude Fund Sets
    checkboxes if you don't want to include these in the new template.
  6. Select
    Save
    .
  7. Make any changes you would like to the fund data for the template. Select
    Save
    when you're finished.
The new template will be available when you need to apply the fund structure to a new or existing engagement.

Import fund templates from a spreadsheet

Follow these steps to import fund data from a spreadsheet to use as a fund template in Engagement Manager.

You need to have Modify Fund Templates permission enabled to complete this task.
  1. In Engagement Manager, select
    Setup
    , then
    Fund Templates
    .
  2. Select the
    Funds
    tab, then
    Import
    Import fund template .
  3. Select
    Spreadsheet
    from the
    Source
    dropdown, then
    Next
    .
  4. Select the file to import, then
    Next
    .
  5. Select the worksheet to import, then do one of the following:
    • Select
      New
      , enter a name for the template, and specify a mask.
    • Select
      Existing
      , then choose an existing template.
  6. Select how you want Engagement Manager to handle duplicate fund items in the
    Duplicates
    field, then
    Next
    .
  7. Define the data in each column and resolve any errors. Select
    Done
    when you're finished.
The template will be available when you need to apply the fund structure to new or existing engagements.

Import a fund template from an existing engagement

Follow these steps to import fund data from an existing engagement to use as a fund template in Engagement Manager.

You need to have Modify Fund Templates permission enabled to complete this task.
  1. In Engagement Manager, select
    Setup
    , the
    Fund Templates
    .
  2. Select the
    Funds
    tab, then
    Import
    .
  3. Select
    Engagement
    from the
    Source
    dropdown, then
    Next
    .
  4. Select the client and engagement you want to import from, then
    Next
    .
  5. Enter a
    Fund template name
    . Mark the checkboxes to
    Exclude Sub Funds
    and
    Exclude Fund Sets
    if you want to exclude these from the new template.
  6. Select
    Done
    .
The template will be available when you need to apply the fund structure to new or existing engagements.
