Create and send a document request or a client form
You can send document requests, including requests for filling out Guided Assurance checklists, to any client, even if they don't have access to Engagement Manager.
- Sign in to Engagement Manager, choose an engagement, then select theCommunicationstab.
- SelectCreate new request.
- Enter a request title.
- Choose a client contact from the dropdown menu, or selectAdd client contactto create a new client contact.
- Select a staff member from theIndividual assigned to requestdropdown to assign a request to another staff member. This will send any comments or notifications of document uploads to the selected staff member.
- Select aDue Dateby which you wish to receive the documents.
- You can set up advanced options:
- Include in roll forward: Select this option to roll forward the request from 1 period to the next.
- Opt out of staff email updates
- Require password
- Send email reminder to client: Set up reminder emails to be sent to your clients for document requests as the due date approaches. You can set up automatic email reminders to remind your clients to upload documents to their requests according to your customized schedule. The number of days before a due date can be set for all engagements or specific to a certain request.
- Enter a name in the Name of document field.
- Optionally, you can include a description of the document.
- You can choose from the following options:
- Attach workpaper
- Attach document
- Add comment
- Client form: Select this option if you want to attach a Guided Assurance checklist to the request.
- Depending on the option you chose, follow the instructions provided on the screen to attach the request.
- If necessary, selectAdd another requestto request additional documents.
- SelectSendif you're finished or selectSave as draftif you want to finish later.The recipient will receive an email that includes a link to upload the requested files.note
- You can have a max of 50 document request lines or sub requests items per request. The file size limit is 500 MB per document.
- You can request documents from only one recipient at a time.
- After creating and sending document requests, you can sort them by Due date, Last sent or Last received. Simply select one of these column headers to sort the list of requests.
- The Client Communications portal is encrypted with SHA 256 bit https for both uploading and retrieving client documents.
