Error: User authentication failed
Scenario
You may get the following error message when you attempt to log in to
Engagement Manager
.User authentication failed.
To solve this error, try the following solutions in order.
Solution 1: re-enter your login credentials
- Close all internet browser sessions.
- Re-open your internet browser.
- Go to theEngagement Managerlogin page.
- Enter valid login credentials.
- SelectSign In.
Solution 2: log in to GoFileRoom
- Open your internet browser and log in toGoFileRoom.
- If you're able to log in, selectApplicationsthenEngagement Managerto openEngagement Managerin a new tab.noteIf there's noEngagement Manageroption in theApplicationslist, ask aGoFileRoomadministrator to enableEngagement Managerfor your user account.
- If you're unable to log in, ask aGoFileRoomadministrator in your firm to review the error message generated by the application.

After you've logged in to
GoFileRoom
you should be able to log in to Engagement Manager
again.Other solutions
- Check that you've entered the correct username and password.
- Ask aGoFileRoomadministrator to check that you are named as anEngagement Manageruser inGoFileRoom. To check this, the administrator will need to selectAdministration,Manage Users and Groups, then select theUserstab.
- Ask aGoFileRoomadministrator to check that you have access to the Clients drawer and have the appropriate Group Permission. To check this, the administrator will need to selectAdministration,Manage Users and Groups, thenGroups.
- Check if your firm has made any IP restrictions which can cause this message inEngagement Manager.
- Check if your firm has an unpaid invoice forEngagement ManagerorGoFileRoom. Sign in to MyAccount at cs.thomsonreuters.com and make sure to pay any outstanding invoices.noteAllow 24 to 48 hours for online payments to process.
