Error: Total 0 rows to be imported. Do you want to complete the import?

Scenario

This error appears when you import a Trial Balance into Engagement Manager. It happens because your Excel sheet name includes special characters, like quotation marks (") or other symbols, that the system can't recognize.
Total 0 rows to be imported. Do you want to complete the import?

Cause

Engagement Manager's import function doesn't recognize or support one or more special characters in your sheet name. Common problematic characters include:
  • Quotation marks (" ")
  • Asterisks (*)
  • Question marks (?)
  • Slashes (/ \)
  • Brackets ([ ])
  • Colons (:)

Solution

  1. Open the Excel file containing your Trial Balance.
  2. Right-click on the sheet tab of the workbook.
  3. Select
    Rename
     from the context menu.
  4. Remove any special characters from the sheet name (use only letter, numbers, spaces and underscores)
  5. Save the Excel file.
  6. Return to Engagement Manager and retry the import process.
note
If the error continues after you rename the sheet, verify that your data range uses the correct format and that the file isn't corrupted. Make sure your Trial Balance data begin in the expected cells with no blank rows at the top.
