tab to add a journal entry to an engagement. If you are working in a parent consolidated engagement, you can add journal entries directly to child engagements without leaving the parent.
You'll need a user account that has been granted permission to
Add Journal Entries
. Before you can add a journal entry, there will also need to be a Client, an Engagement, and some amounts in the Trial Balance.
On the Engagement dashboard, select the engagement to view it.

If the engagement is not on your
Engagement dashboard
, use
Open engagements
to add it.
Select the
Journal entries
tab.
Select the
Add entry
link.
If you are working in a parent consolidated engagement, select the child engagement you want to add the journal entry to from the
Engagement
dropdown.

The
Engagement
dropdown only appears in parent consolidated engagements. The account list updates to display only the accounts that belong to the selected child engagement. If you are working in a divisional engagement, select the division you want to add the journal entry to from the
Division
dropdown. The account list updates to display only the accounts that belong to the selected division.
Enter a reference number in the
Reference
field, then choose a
Type
for your journal entry.
Non-consolidated engagements: Adjusting, Reclassifying, Federal Tax, State Tax, Other, Other 2, Other 3 and Proposed.
Consolidated engagements: Eliminating, Reclassifying, Federal Tax, State Tax, Other, Other 2, Other 3 and Proposed.
