Create and edit trial balance account grouping codes at engagement level
You can create, edit, or delete account groupings, codes, and subcodes at the engagement level and at the firm level, if you have a user account that has been granted the required permission.
tip
You can't add, delete, or edit codes or subcodes in the Account Classification (System) account groupings or the corresponding account types.
- In Engagement Manager, open the engagement.
- Select theTrial Balancetab.
- SelectAccount Groupings.
- Select the account grouping to view its codes and subcodes
- You can do any of the following in the Codes or Subcodes panes:
- Add an account grouping code: selectAddin the Codes pane, enter the code and description, then selectOK.
- Add a subcode: select an account grouping code, thenAddin the Subcodes pane. Enter the subcode and description, then selectOK.
- Modify an account grouping code or description: select an account grouping code, thenPropertiesin the Codes pane. Change the code and/or description, then selectOK.
- Modify a subcode or description: select an account grouping code, a subcode, thenPropertiesin the Subcodes pane. Change the subcode and/or description, then selectOK.
- Change the position of an account grouping code: select an account grouping code, then selectMove UporMove Downin the Codes pane until the code is in the correct place.
- Change the position of a subcode: select an account grouping code, a subcode, then selectMove UporMove Downin the Subcodes pane until the subcode is in the correct place.
- Delete an account grouping code: select an account grouping code, then selectDeletein the Codes pane. SelectYesto confirm.
- Delete a subcode: Select an account grouping code, a subcode, then selectDeletein the Subcodes pane. SelectYesto confirm.
- SelectSavefrom above the Codes and Subcodes panes to keep your changes, orCancelto undo them.
- SelectOKto close Account Groupings.note
- If you don’t see the grouping you expected, you can import an account grouping into the engagement.
- Changes made to account grouping codes and subcodes in the Trial Balance for an engagement apply to that engagement only. They don’t affect the firm-level account groupings.
