Drawer-specific Subfolders

FileCabinet CS allows you to create drawer-specific subfolders for drawers that require an additional layer of organization when storing items (such as scanned images or printed documents).
To access the
Drawer Subfolders
dialog choose a folder from the list of drawers, then choose
Edit
Drawer Subfolders
or right-click and choose
Drawer Subfolders
.
From the Drawer Subfolders dialog you can.
  • Add subfolders
  • Delete subfolders
  • Rename subfolders
Subfolders are available for selection in the expanded parent folders when storing documents on various dialogs such as the
Document Properties
dialog. Certain dialogs, such as the
Folders to Archive
dialog, only display the parent folder for selection.
Documents that have been stored in a subfolder are displayed in the list of drawers after the parent folder has been expanded.
note
We recommend using subfolders with caution and careful planning, and only when necessary. The creation of many subfolders may lead to disorganization that the defined global folders are designed to prevent. You may also begin to see performance degradation if subfolders are consistently used in situations where global folders would have been appropriate.
