Select Drawer Families dialog

Use this dialog to add or remove drawers for one or more families, to edit family names, and to delete families. When drawers are included in a family, a
Family
folder appears in the
Folders
window for each member drawer. You can expand the
Family
folder to show the icons of the other drawers in the family.
To open this dialog, choose
File
Drawer Properties
and select the
Select Family
button.

Fields & buttons

Family list
Shows drawer families of which the current drawer is a member in addition to other member drawers for each family.
Add button
Use this button to create a new drawer family by enabling the
Drawers available to assign
list below and selecting drawers. Enter a family name in the
Family Name
field and select
Enter
or
OK
.
note
  • You can create multiple families for a single drawer; however, we do not recommend creating duplicate family names for a single drawer.
  • If you add a drawer already associated with a family to another family, the other drawers in each family will not automatically become associated.
Edit button
Use this button to change the name or to add or remove member drawers of the selected family. Select
Enter
or
OK
to save any changes.

Drawer families created prior to the 2009 release of FileCabinet CS will appear in the Family list as
<Unnamed Family>
.
Delete button
Use this button to delete the selected family.
Enter button
Use this button to save changes when adding or editing families.
Family name
Update the family name in this field when adding or editing a drawer family. The default entry for this field is
Family
.

This field becomes active when you select the
Add
or
Edit
buttons.
Drawers available to assign list
Shows the drawers available to add to a drawer family.
Drawers to assign list
Shows the drawers to be added to a drawer family.
Focus checkboxes
If you have assigned statuses to your drawers, you can mark or clear the status checkboxes in the
Focus
section to focus the Drawer list by status.
