Creating embedded objects from Microsoft Office applications

Follow these steps to create an embedded object from Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook. When you store a file as an embedded object in FileCabinet CS, you can edit the file in the original application, or from within FileCabinet CS using many of the features of the object's source application.
  1. From within Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook, select the
    Embed
button in the Microsoft Office FileCabinet CS toolbar.
The FileCabinet CS installation process adds FileCabinet CS toolbars to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. The buttons in these toolbars allow you to quickly print or embed documents to FileCabinet CS. The FileCabinet CS toolbar is supported in Microsoft Office 2016, 2019, and 2021.
  2. Select
    OK
if FileCabinet CS notifies you that the current document will be saved, closed, and reopened after it is embedded.
  3. If your firm uses multiple data locations, select the desired FileCabinet CS data location from the
    FileCabinet CS
    field.
  4. Indicate the ID of the drawer in which you will store the document, enter the name of the document as you want it to appear in FileCabinet CS, and choose the folder in which you will store the document.
  5. Select the
    Embed
    button.
