FileCabinet CS Embedded Documents dialog

Use this dialog to confirm the document and document name to be embedded in FileCabinet CS from Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
This dialog opens automatically when you embed documents in FileCabinet CS from Microsoft Office applications.
When you store a file as an embedded object in FileCabinet CS, you can edit the file in the original application, or from within FileCabinet CS using many of the features of the object's source application.

Fields & buttons

FileCabinet CS
Your firm's default data location appears in this field. If your firm uses multiple data locations, you can choose another location from this field.
Rename duplicate names to prevent overwriting
Mark this checkbox to have FileCabinet CS automatically add
Copy <#>
to avoid overwriting a document with a document that has the same name.
Open document in FileCabinet CS when complete
Mark this checkbox to open the embedded document and associated drawer in FileCabinet CS after embedding your document.
Drawer ID
Choose from this field the ID or drawer name for the drawer in which you will embed the document.
To view drawers by name instead of ID, choose
Setup
User Preferences
Drawer List
tab, and mark the
Present drawers sorted by name
checkbox.
You can also add a drawer by entering a Drawer ID in this field and pressing ENTER to open the
Add Drawer to FileCabinet CS
dialog, or by selecting the
Add drawer
button and entering the drawer ID and name.
To select multiple drawers for the document you are storing, choose
<<Select multiple drawers>>
from the
Drawer ID
field, select the destination drawers, and select
OK
.
Document name
In this field, you can change the name of the document to be embedded. For example, if you do not want to overwrite an existing document in FileCabinet CS, you can use this field to rename the new document.

from this field to open the
Select Name
dialog, from which you can choose an existing name for the document you are embedding.
Undo button
Undo button with left pointing arrow
Use this button to revert to the name originally assigned to the document. This button is enabled only when you have entered a name other than the default document name.
Add to list button
Add to list button shows yellow plus sign
Use this button to save the current document name to a custom list.
Select document name from current drawer
Select this option from the document name drop-down list to open the
Select Name
dialog, from which you can choose an existing name for the document you are sending.
Document folders
Mark the checkbox for each folder that should contain a copy of the embedded document.

Folders used in the current drawer appear at the top of the folder list, followed by a separator line, and then followed by the list of remaining folders (those not in use in the drawer).
Embed button
Use this button to embed the document in FileCabinet CS.
Add drawer button
Add drawer button
Use this button to open the
Add Drawer to FileCabinet CS
dialog where you can enter the drawer ID and name for the new drawer.
