Errors

Cannot open document for editing. It is already being edited.

If you try to open an embedded object (such as a live Word or Excel document) within FileCabinet CS that is already open, you will get an error message letting you know that the document is locked.
Error message
Can't open 
[document name]
 for editing. It is already being edited by 
[username]
...
If you have determined that no one is actually editing that document, you can clear the lock:
  1. Choose
    Help
    Repair
    .
  2. In the
    File Locks
     tab, select the
    Embedded object locks
     option.
  3. Highlight the lock and select the
    Delete Lock
     button.
  4. Select
    Done
     to exit the
    Repair
     dialog. You should now be able to open the document.
note
If you still get the error message, navigate to
X:\WinCSI\FcabData
 (or the appropriate data location for this drawer), open the folder for that drawer, and delete the
Lockole.cc$
 file.
