Error: The file is not supported by a document object server
Scenario
You may see this error when you attempt to embed an object type that the application does not support.
You can embed any file into FileCabinet CS that originated in an application that supports Active Document Interface, such as Microsoft Word or Excel. You can also embed PDF files and images.
The file is not supported by a Document Object server.
Solutions
- For a Microsoft Excel fileYour Excel file is likely corrupted. Use the following steps to resolve the error:
- Save the document under a different name, and then try to embed the file again.
- If you still get the error, open the Excel document and right-click the worksheet tab. ChooseMoveorCopyand paste the worksheet in a new Excel file, and then save the file. Try to embed the new file.
- For an image fileChooseImagethenCopyfromFileand select the image file to embed.noteFileCabinet CS supports image files with the following filename extensions: BMP, ICO, JFIF, JPEG, JPG, PBM, PCD, PCX, PGM, PNG, PPM, RAS, TARGA, TGA, TIF, and TIFF.
- For other file types, run the FileCabinet CS desktop setup.
