You may see this error when you attempt to open an embedded Excel file from within FileCabinet CS.

Server threw an exception

This error is caused by file corruption, a special code (such as macros or checkmarks), or PPC tickmarks in a Microsoft Excel file.

Choose

Setup
User Preferences
Misc

and clear the Open embedded Microsoft Office documents in a separate window
checkbox.

If this does not resolve the issue, copy the contents of the Excel file into a new Excel file, and then embed the new file.
