UltraTax CS: Print Returns with Masked SSN to FileCabinet CS

UltraTax CS has security features allow you to Mask SSN in the application and on documents.
  1. Open the
    Setup
     menu
  2. Select
    Security
  3. You'll see options to
    Mask taxpayer identification numbers on report
     and
    Require a password to display SSNs
With both of those options marked, close UltraTax CS and reopen without entering the SSN password. SSN/EIN numbers will not display on the input screens, reports, or returns printed to File Cabinet CS.
Field masking when printing
The options for what is masked when printing can be specified to SSSs/PTINs, EINs, Bank Numbers, or Date of Birth.
  1. Open the
    Setup
     menu
  2. Select
    Office Configuration
  3. Select
    Print Options
  4. Select your masking prefrences under
    Field masking applies to:
    .
Mask SSNs in an Organizer
  1. Open the
    Setup
     menu.
  2. Select
    1040 Individual
    .
  3. Open the
    Organizer
     tab.
  4. Mark the
    Mask Social Security numbers with asterisks on Client Organizers
     checkbox.
Mask while printing to File Cabinet CS
Another method to print returns to File Cabinet CS is to choose the Preparer copy with field masking.
  1. Choose
    File
    .
  2. Select
    Print Returns
    .
  3. Mark
    Preparer copy
     and
    File Cabinet CS.
  4. In the
    Preparer copy
    dropdown, choose
    Preparer copy with field masking
    .
  5. Select
    Print/To Cabinet
    .
