FileCabinet CS functionality with expired licenses

note
The following information applies to local installations of the application. If you currently use FileCabinet CS through Virtual Office, you'll lose access when the application automatically updates to the next version.

Now until December 31, 2027

  • If you don't renew your FileCabinet CS license, you'll still be able to:
    • View, print, backup, restore, send to file, and send to email any existing documents
    • Use archiving features
  • With an expired license, you won’t be able to:
    • Update the FileCabinet CS application
    • Add new documents
    • upload/download data through CS Connect
    • Send documents to NetClient CS
    • Access FileCabinet CS from multiple workstations at the same time

Additional considerations

  • SaaS customers: Export all documents before canceling, unless you're purchasing FileCabinet CS
  • Terminal server customers (before your license expires): Install FileCabinet CS on a local machine and restore a backup of the data
  • License: Once the product expires, you can't download or acquire new licenses

Support and resources

After December 31, 2027

  • We’ll no longer provide updates or support for FileCabinet CS.
  • While you may still be able to view, print, backup, restore, send to file, and send to email existing documents, we can't guarantee perpetual access due to potential technological changes. For example, operating system updates, security updates, or authentication updates.
  • To ensure your data remains accessible, we recommend:
    • Migrating your data to an alternative document management system before December 31, 2027.
    • Extract and storing your documents in formats that will remain accessible regardless of future system updates.
