Options
This section contains the following drawer conversion checkboxes. You can choose one or both conversion options.
  • Store drawer data in a multiple-file format for faster file access
. Mark this checkbox to have FileCabinet CS store each drawer as a group of multiple files, instead of as a single file. We recommend converting all drawers using this option.
    note
When you start FileCabinet CS, you will receive a message when one or more clients from any data location is not currently stored in the multiple-file format.
  • Optimize performance for Windows XP and higher systems
. This feature uses technology that is part of the Windows XP and higher operating systems to optimize application performance. Therefore, mark this checkbox only when all computers that will access drawers to be converted are running Windows XP or higher operating systems.
Before optimizing drawer data, verify that all computers in your organization, including those used in home offices and laptops used in the field, are running Windows XP or higher operating systems.
    note
Drawer optimization is not applicable to database data locations.
