Dragging and dropping files when accessing FileCabinet CS through Virtual Office CS or SaaS
The general guidelines for dragging and dropping files into FileCabinet CS also apply within the Virtual Office CS or SaaS environment. However, the source application or directory and the destination application or directory must be accessed through Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). Therefore, we recommend that you use one of the following methods when dragging and dropping files in Virtual Office CS or SaaS.
Method 1
- Right-click a drawer within FileCabinet CS and choose Open C: drive on local machine (V:) from the context menu.
- An Explorer window opens through AVD for your C: drive. In this window, navigate to the desired folder and drag and drop any files as needed.
Method 2
This method involves the creation of a custom link in FileCabinet CS that points to your local desktop or other local directory. The link will be available as an icon in the FileCabinet CS homepage that you can use to access a designated location through Citrix.
- In FileCabinet CS, choose , go to theMisctab, and select theCustom Linksbutton.
- Select theAddbutton and enter a description for this link in theDescriptionfield ("My Desktop," for example).
- In theLink Tosection, select theFileoption. You cannot use the ellipsis (...) button to select a folder, so you will need to enter the folder path in theFilefield. For example, if your Windows user name is FrontDesk, you would enter the path to your desktop as V:\Users\FrontDesk\Desktop\.
- Select theBrowsebutton to select an icon for this custom link that will appear on theHome Page.
- SelectOK, selectOKto close theCustom Linksdialog, and thenOKto close theUser Preferencesdialog.
You can now visit the FileCabinet CS Home Page and select the icon that you designated for the custom link to open an explorer window for drag and drop purposes.
