Printing PDF to FileCabinet CS creates extremely large temp files and slows printing

Scenario

Printing an Adobe Acrobat .PDF file to FileCabinet CS, and the job is taking a long time or you notice that the print temp file is extremely large, a setting in Adobe Acrobat Reader is likely causing the delay.

Solution

  1. Open the .PDF file in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  2. Choose
    File
    >
    Print
    .
  3. Choose FileCabinet CS as the printer.
  4. Select the
    Advanced
button at the bottom of the
    Print
    dialog.
  5. Unmark the
    Print as Image
    option and select
    OK
    .
Now when you print, the print job should be much smaller, and consequently much quicker. This option will be remembered for the next time the driver is used to print.
note
Alternatively, you can import the Adobe Acrobat file using
Object > Create from File
. However, embedded PDF documents cannot use the FileCabinet CS annotations or stamp library.
