Troubleshooting the FileCabinet CS Print & Embed toolbars in Microsoft Office applications

We support the 32-bit version of Office; however, the 64-bit version is not supported and currently the FileCabinet CS toolbar does not install properly in the 64-bit version of Office.
If the Print and Embed toolbar is not displaying within Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), try the following troubleshooting steps.
  • If you are running Norton / Symantec Anti-Virus, did you recently get prompted to quarantine the
    cab_addin.dll
    file? If so, this will disable the FileCabinet CS Add-Ins within Microsoft Office applications. To resolve, you will need to rename your
    Cabinet
    folder within your
    WinCSI
    folder and reinstall the latest version of FileCabinet CS. (Note: If you have the Background Services enabled, you will need to disable it by going to
    Setup
    System Configuration
    CS Connect + Misc
    tab and un-marking the
    Background Services
    before you will be able to rename the Cabinet folder).
  • Verify that you ran the desktop setup on the workstation after installing FileCabinet CS (if using on a network).
  • In FileCabinet CS, choose
    Setup
    User Preferences
    Misc
    tab. Verify that the option to
    Hide custom toolbar in Microsoft Office applications
    is not marked. If it's not marked, you can try to toggle the option by marking it and selecting
    OK
    . Verify that Microsoft Office applications are closed on your workstation. Choose
    Setup
    User Preferences
    Misc
    again, and unmark the option, and select
    OK
    . Re-open your Microsoft Office application to see if the toolbar is now visible.
  • Microsoft Office can sometimes block custom add-ins, such as the FileCabinet CS Print & Embed toolbar. Search in your Office application's Help Menu for "Adding Custom Add-Ins" for more directions.
