System Configuration / Groups tab

Use this tab to add, edit, and delete groups. You can also set up and maintain privilege settings for each group to determine access to certain areas of FileCabinet CS. FileCabinet CS includes three default groups:
$Administrators
,
$Guests
, and
$Unauthorized Users
. These groups cannot be deleted.
To open this tab, choose
Setup
System Configuration
, enter the master password, and go to the
Groups
tab.

This tab is available only if you have marked the
Enable Advanced User/Group Security
checkbox in the
Security
tab while standard security is enabled.

Fields & buttons

Group list
This list displays the name and description for each group.
note
The
$Administrators
,
$Guests
, and
$Unauthorized Users
groups cannot be deleted.
Add Group button
Use this button to open the
Add Group
dialog, where you can add a new user group and assign group security privileges.
Edit Group button
Use this button to open the
Edit Group
dialog, where you can modify the name, description, and privilege settings for the selected group.

  • You cannot modify the name or description of the
    $Administrators
    ,
    $Guests
    , or
    $Unauthorized Users
    groups.
  • You cannot modify the security privilege settings for the
    $Administrators
    or
    $Unauthorized Users
    groups.
Delete Group button
Use this button to delete an existing group.

You cannot delete the
$Administrators
,
$Guests
, and
$Unauthorized Users
groups.
