System Configuration / CS Connect + Misc tab

Use this tab to perform the following tasks.
  • Configure CS Connect Background Services to have CS Connect automatically check for updates, apply updates at a specified time, automatically transmit documents with a status of
    Changed
     or
    Forced
     to NetClient CS, and determine if only this computer or all computers running a network version of FileCabinet CS should be allowed to run CS Connect background services.
  • Specify a limit in the
    Event history
     section for the number of events displayed in the
    Event History
     for each drawer. FileCabinet CS displays these events under Event History in the
    Watch
     window.
  • In the
    Document sorting options
     section, configure FileCabinet CS to treat numbers in dates that are formatted as MM/YY as MM/DD, when sorting documents.
  • Specify the default font type and size for all drawer and page notes within FileCabinet CS in the Drawer / page note defaults section.
To open this tab, choose
Setup
System Configuration
 and go to the
CS Connect + Misc
 tab.

This tab is not available if your security configuration is set to restrict access to the
System Configuration
 dialog and you did not enter the master password in the
Security
 tab.

Fields & buttons

CS Connect Background Services options
Enable background services
Mark this checkbox to enable CS Connect background services and to have CS Connect check for FileCabinet CS updates.
note
The options you set for CS Connect background services affect FileCabinet CS, UltraTax CS, and Fixed Assets CS.
Enable automatic transmission to NetClient CS
If you are licensed for NetFirm CS, mark this checkbox to have CS Connect check every ten minutes for all NetClient CS contributors that have documents with a status of "Changed" or "Forced" and transmit the documents to NetClient CS.

Advanced security features related to transmitting files to NetClient CS, such as the NetClient CS Functions privilege, will be ignored when this checkbox is marked.
Enable automatic transmission and retrieval of Source Document Processing (OCR)
Mark this checkbox to enable automatic transmission and retrieval of documents that you have designated for source document processing.
Apply updates every day at <specified time>
Mark this option to apply updates automatically. All users must exit FileCabinet CS and all Microsoft Office applications, and at least one authorized user's Windows profile must remain logged in to the network.
Which computers are allowed to run background services?
Select which other (all computers on the network, or just this one) computers are authorized to run CS Connect background services. When a specific computer is chosen on the network, other FileCabinet CS users on that network will see an "Only <comp name> computer" option.
Event history
Limit size of log to <n> most recent events
Enter a number in this field to specify a limit for the number of events logged for each drawer. The minimum number allowed in this field is 100. The default event limit is 1000.
Document sorting options
Treat NN/NN as MM/DD instead of MM/YY when sorting documents
By default, this option is not marked and documents will be sorted by month, then by year (MM/YY). Mark this option to have documents sorted by month, then by day (MM/DD).

Setup > User Preferences > Drawer List
 tab, you can mark a checkbox to
Sort date-specific folders and documents in descending order
.
Drawer / page note defaults
Font type
Choose a default font for all drawer and page notes.
Font size
Choose the desired default font size for all drawer and page notes.
